**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As an Advanced General Surgery Nurse Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.

**About the Role:**

This is a full-time position working days shifts. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in nursing practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for delivering safe and effective direct care to patients undergoing general surgery procedures, collaborating with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans, and ensuring adherence to hospital policies and procedures.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and documenting patient information
* Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans
* Participate in orientation and training programs to enhance professional growth and development
* Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information
* Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members

**Requirements:**

To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A RN license in NM or reciprocal agreement by NM
* BLS/ CPR certification within 30 days of hire
* At least one year of experience in general surgery or related field
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
