This role will report directly to the Director of Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop efficient, high-yield manufacturing processes tailored to specific production volumes.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in process development for both free space and fiber-coupled optical alignment and measurement, utilizing advanced alignment techniques and optical systems knowledge.
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in optical alignment tools and techniques, recommending and implementing new equipment to enhance capabilities.
  • Collaborate with the Automation Engineer to design fixtures for assembling, aligning, and testing optomechanical systems, including the development of automated alignment stations for high-volume production.
  • Utilize design of experiments and statistical process control to provide data-driven evidence that processes meet product specifications.
  • Document the process development lifecycle for each project and contribute to knowledge repositories regarding fixtures, materials, and process parameters.
  • Create detailed work instructions and deliver training to manufacturing personnel on developed processes.
  • Troubleshoot optical workstations and equipment to swiftly address production-related issues.
  • Establish and implement preventive maintenance protocols for optical equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Optical Science/Engineering or Physics.
  • A minimum of 5 years of practical experience in aligning and testing optical systems.
  • At least 3 years of programming experience.
  • 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong English communication skills and a proactive approach to learning.
