Job Summary

As a kitchen helper/dietary aide, you will assist the cook in preparing and serving meals, place prepared food on plates/trays, and maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment. You will also be responsible for delivering food and trays, washing dishes, and sanitizing the kitchen according to health standards.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the cook in meal preparation and service
  • Place prepared food on plates/trays according to tray tickets
  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment
  • Deliver food and trays to residents
  • Wash dishes and sanitize the kitchen
  • Utilize protective gear in all appropriate functions
  • Follow infection control and universal precautions policies
  • Follow proper reporting, isolation, and handwashing procedures
Requirements
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and ability to follow instructions
  • Perform routine, repetitive tasks daily
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Specialized training in food service desirable
  • Current ServSafe certification required
  • Food Handler's card required
  • Ability to lift/carry a maximum of 30 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods
