Environmental Health Inspector Role at Yavapai County

Position Overview: Under general oversight, this role is pivotal in ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards across designated regions and environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform inspections across diverse locations, applying pertinent codes and regulations
  • Detect and mitigate hazardous substances that could pose risks to public health and the ecosystem
  • Examine public areas and track environmental shifts
  • Address public inquiries related to health programs
  • Work in conjunction with various agencies to guarantee compliance with regulations

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required

Experience: Minimum of two years of pertinent experience in Environmental Health or a related discipline

Additional Requirements: A valid driver's license and a Registered Sanitarian license in the State of Arizona are mandatory

Skills and Expertise:

  • Comprehensive understanding of environmental health regulations and practices
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local codes and legislation
  • Strong communication abilities and a focus on customer service
  • Capability to organize inspection schedules and maintain accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and report generation

Physical Demands: Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods, possess good vision and hearing, and lift items weighing up to 30 pounds.
