Position Overview: The Quality Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring that the manufactured components meet all customer specifications. This position requires prompt and effective action in response to any identified non-conformance. The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all documented procedures align with the true interpretation of Quality Management System standards.

Key Responsibilities: The following duties are essential to this role:

  • Engage with customers' quality and engineering teams to identify critical features of parts and assess the manufacturability of designs. Propose modifications to customer specifications and tolerances to facilitate cost-effective production.
  • Conduct reviews of purchase orders and contracts to confirm that systems are established to fulfill all customer requirements.
  • Verify that all conditions are satisfied prior to product release.
  • Access customer portals for the submission of documentation and requests.
  • Interpret technical drawings and blueprints, including GD&T dimensioning and specifications.
  • Provide engineering support to the quality department to ensure consistent application of quality methodologies.
  • Identify when process stability and capability studies are necessary for existing processes. Analyze results and recommend process adjustments based on findings, followed by verification of effectiveness.
  • Utilize Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques in collaboration with the engineering team; develop efficient inspection plans to guarantee product conformity.
  • Participate in Product Quality Planning to determine the appropriate application of existing and new measurement systems during the design and startup of new tools or processes.
  • Encourage and facilitate the use of effective problem-solving techniques for thorough root cause analysis and successful corrective actions.

Qualifications: To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following:

  • Expertise in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics
  • Experience in preparing for and conducting audits
  • Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO9001 standards
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective customer relationships
  • Proficiency in standard office software and database management

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Engineering or a related technical field
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality Engineering within a manufacturing setting
  • Prior experience in Customer Quality Assurance
