Job Summary

Houston Christian University is seeking a highly qualified Academic Leader in School Psychology to join our esteemed faculty. As a key member of our Psychology Department, you will be responsible for teaching graduate-level clinical courses, mentoring students, and contributing to the growth and development of our academic programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach graduate-level clinical courses in School Psychology, preparing students for licensure as a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP)
  • Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with NASP and APA standards
  • Supervise student and graduate assistants, providing guidance and support in their academic and professional pursuits
  • Conduct research and publish scholarly articles in reputable journals
  • Participate in departmental and university service, contributing to the growth and development of our academic programs
Qualifications
  • Doctorate in School Psychology from an accredited institution
  • Evidence of scholarship, including refereed journal publications and professional conference presentations
  • Eligibility for licensure as a School Psychologist in Texas (LSSP) or commitment to obtain licensure upon receipt of contract
  • Teaching experience, with a focus on graduate-level courses
  • Knowledge of NASP and APA standards, with the ability to apply them in a teaching and research context
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development, with a focus on staying current in the field of School Psychology
