The Registered Nurse - Trauma Educator is a critical member of our healthcare team, responsible for providing education and training to staff on trauma care delivery and regulations. This role requires in-depth knowledge of trauma care and the ability to design and deliver effective education programs.
Key Responsibilities- Assess the knowledge and skills of trauma patient care staff and identify training needs.
- Design and deliver orientation and continuing education programs for trauma staff and medical staff to support a Level 2 trauma center.
- Provide group and one-on-one learning situations to focus on specific clinical and professional topics identified by trauma process improvement.
- Establish and maintain tracking systems to monitor compliance with education and aptitude programs for trauma nursing staff and medical staff.
- Maintain and lead required trauma education programs.
- Serve as a program and community liaison resource, cultivating positive working relationships with community agencies.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course certification.
- Trauma Outcomes and Performance Improvement certification within 6 months of employment start date.
- Registered Nurse licensure.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (Bachelor's Degree preferred).
- Previous clinical experience in a trauma acute care setting.
