Position Overview

As a Clinical Nutrition Specialist, you will play a vital role in delivering medical nutrition therapy and assessing the effectiveness of nutritional interventions within a long-term care environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide nutrition services in alignment with established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- While not in a supervisory role, the registered dietitian holds the necessary administrative authority and accountability to fulfill assigned responsibilities and guide team members effectively.
- Plan, organize, develop, and oversee the nutritional care of residents, ensuring adherence to current federal, state, and local standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with colleagues to guarantee the provision of high-quality nutritional services on a daily basis.
- Serve as a resource for the Dining Services Department to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary dining environment.
- Act as a liaison between the dining services and clinical teams.

The Registered Dietitian is expected to embody the core values and mission of ISH Dining Services.

Qualifications and Experience

- Bachelor's degree in Dietetics from an accredited institution.
- Master's degree in Dietetics or a related field from an accredited institution (effective January 1, 2024).
- Registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration and licensed in Pennsylvania, or obtain licensure and registration within six months of employment.
- Compliance with CMS vaccination mandates.
- Reliable with experience in facilities utilizing large-scale food production methods.
- Proficient in maintaining records and completing necessary reports.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to engage positively with residents, clients, interdisciplinary teams, and the public.
- Knowledgeable about dietary practices, regulations, and guidelines governing dietary functions in nursing facilities.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and a collaborative approach to working with others.
- Capable of planning, organizing, developing, implementing, and interpreting the objectives and policies of the Food Services Department.
