Outpatient Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a talented Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Weill Cornell Medicine, a world-class academic medical center. Our colorectal surgeons are renowned for their expertise in minimally invasive surgery, and we need a dedicated professional with wound and ostomy care experience to provide exceptional patient care in our outpatient clinic.
About the OpportunityIn this role, you will be responsible for direct patient care and coordination, assessing patients through comprehensive health histories and physical examinations, and educating patients on disease management and health promotion. Key responsibilities include evaluating patients, ordering labs and diagnostic testing, and prescribing medications as necessary.
The ideal candidate has a Master's of Science Degree in Nursing and approximately 2 or more years of clinical experience as an NP, with relevant certifications. If you are passionate about delivering high-quality patient care and have excellent communication skills, we encourage you to apply.
Responsibilities and Requirements- Evaluate new and/or established patients through comprehensive and focused health histories and physical examinations
- Order labs, imaging, diagnostic testing, and consultations, reviewing and interpreting results to develop patient care plans
- Presume medications and therapeutic interventions as appropriate, following accepted standard of care and practice guidelines
- Counsel/educate patients and their care providers on acute/chronic disease management, disease prevention, and health promotion
- Confer with specialists, attending physicians, residents, nursing staff, and/or other healthcare providers to promote continuity of care and optimize patient outcomes
- Participate in performance improvement and educational activities as appropriate
- Assist in the preparation, implementation, and evaluation of research protocols when applicable
