Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse III to join our team at the City of Laredo, TX. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing advanced clinical nursing services, including phlebotomy, patient education, and disease prevention and control.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct early detection screening services, including phlebotomy, and provide patient education on disease management and prevention.
  • Supervise, plan, schedule, and assign work to subordinates, instructing and training them in correct methods and procedures.
  • Provide administrative, program, and advanced clinical support in patient care, clinical services, and preventive health disease control.
  • Monitor program performance, utilizing objectives and productivity as guidelines, and assist program registered nurses with case management.
  • Assist medical and clinical personnel, obtain health histories, and take blood pressures, heights, and weights, filling out lab slips and instructing patients on collection of specimens or clinical care services.
Requirements
  • Graduated from a State-approved School of Vocational Nursing.
  • At least five (5) years of health/clinical experience.
  • Proof of TB Test/Screening required prior to employment.
  • Vocational Nursing License from the State of Texas.
  • CPR/BLS Certification required within six (6) months of employment.
