Wind Energy Technician II

About the Role:

The Tiger Team Technician II is a key member of our operations and maintenance team, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our wind turbines. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on wind turbines, including generator bearing exchange, pitch ram exchange, and yaw drive exchange.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and repair work on wind turbines, using a variety of tools and equipment.
  • Work collaboratively with the O&M team to ensure that all maintenance activities are completed safely and efficiently.
  • Develop and maintain technical knowledge of wind turbine systems and components.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to less experienced team members.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree in Wind School and/or Mechanical degree preferred.
  • Global Wind Organization Certificate preferred.
  • A minimum 4 years of experience in Wind, Solar, and BESS.
  • Alternatively, 2 year or 4 year college degree from an accredited school (other than correspondence or online) in a technical science like engineering, physics, power, or closely similar; a current journeyman or a master electrician license.
  • Unrestricted driver's license in good standing.
  • Ability to push/pull/lift tools and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work safely in extreme environments (hot sun, cold, etc.).
  • Ability to walk, climb, and stand extensively during the workday.
  • Knowledge of and experience with the use of hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge of environmental and safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to and from job sites as assigned.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage customer relationships.
  • Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space.
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams.
  • Strong leadership and communication, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables.
  • Ability to multi-task while working independently and as part of a team.
  • Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds.
  • Responds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachable.
  • Is detail-oriented, has strong business acumen, and a sound understanding of business concepts.
