About the Role:

Gpac is seeking a seasoned Estimator with extensive experience in Heavy Civil Construction to join our team. As an Estimator, you will be responsible for performing detailed quantity take-offs from construction plans, preparing accurate and comprehensive project estimates, and supervising and mentoring junior estimators and support staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs from construction plans to ensure accurate project estimates.
  • Prepare comprehensive project estimates, including labor, materials, and equipment costs.
  • Supervise and mentor junior estimators and support staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure accurate project scopes and budgets.
  • Review and analyze subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure they meet the project's requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and best practices to ensure the company remains competitive.

Requirements:

  • Experience in Heavy Civil Construction estimating, with a strong background in estimating projects related to heavy highway, bridge construction, utility work, or marine projects.
  • Ability to quickly become self-sufficient and work independently, with excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant estimating software and tools, with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Engineering experience is a plus, but not required.
