Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding role for a skilled Truck Driver who will be responsible for transporting and unloading bulk raw materials to support the production requirements of our company, TAMKO.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation and Unloading: Pick up, transport, and unload bulk raw materials as dictated by production requirements.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain adequate levels of bulk and other raw materials on a daily/weekly basis.
  • Equipment Operation: Occasional transport of miscellaneous equipment/materials to and from company-owned facilities and outside vendors/contractors.
  • Loading and Unloading: Occasional loading/unloading of materials using a forklift.
  • Quality Control: Perform required raw material testing as specified by Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Training and Development: Complete annual training requirements.
  • Support Functions: Assist with inventory and cycle counts as needed.
Requirements
  • Communication Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Technical Skills: Basic computer skills.
  • Certifications: CDL Class A. Forklift certification per company requirements.

  • Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
  • Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee must work in and around unloading equipment, forklifts, and production lines.
