Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) to join our Level III Trauma Center team at Johnston-Willis Hospital. As a member of our emergency department, you will provide direct, fast, and skilled care to patients experiencing life's worst moments. Our newly renovated and state-of-the-art ER features 24 beds with a 6-bed rapid treatment area and sees an average of 110 patients per day.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer prescribed medications, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
  • Serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
  • Coordinate patient discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • One year of experience in Emergency Services preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia or have a Compact license.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date.
  • PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date.
