Job Title: 3rd Shift Warehouse Operations Supervisor

At Aldi Inc., we are committed to providing our customers with the best possible shopping experience. As a 3rd Shift Warehouse Operations Supervisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our warehouse operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and modify daily work schedules to meet warehouse needs
  • Coordinate job activities and tasks of direct reports
  • Oversee the daily receiving and shipping of product
  • Monitor processes for inbound and outbound deliveries
  • Develop and implement action plans to improve operating results
  • Establish and communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations
  • Model the company strategy and communicate core values to employees
  • Interact effectively with peers and operate in accordance with shared warehouse management objectives
  • Collaborate with other divisional operational areas and communicate relevant information
  • Communicate with District Managers and store management as appropriate
  • Provide input and recommendations to the Warehouse Operations Manager
  • Monitor service providers within the warehouse and ensure acceptable performance
  • Ensure communication with the in-house carrier of daily schedule changes and needs
  • Monitor the competitive environment and inform management of necessary adjustments
  • Recommend personnel for advancement and termination as appropriate
  • Address warehouse issues and escalate concerns as necessary
  • Oversee the activities of warehouse personnel and ensure effectiveness and efficiency
  • Lead, plan, and facilitate regularly scheduled Warehouse Associate meetings
  • Train and develop direct reports to achieve their maximum professional potential
  • Observe and evaluate employee work performance and provide feedback and coaching as necessary
  • Supervise the timely, accurate, and efficient storage of product, supplies, and equipment
  • Supervise warehouse teams to ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, maintenance, and operational safety guidelines and procedures
  • Oversee warehouse personnel to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Monitor and manage controllable expenses and provide inventory and efficiency results
  • Ensure a safe environment by identifying and rectifying hazards and maintaining equipment in proper working order
  • Manage direct reports to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures
Requirements:
  • Ability to recommend, interpret, and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of products and services of the company
  • Ability to manage direct reports relating to training, development, motivation, retention, and discipline
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to evaluate work performance and motivate behavior change among direct reports when necessary
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to develop rapport, trust, and open communication that enhances the growth and performance of direct reports
  • Works cooperatively and collaboratively within a group
  • Ability to facilitate group involvement when conducting meetings

Physical Requirements:
  • Frequently work in varying temperatures, hot and cold (including outdoor temperatures and refrigerator/freezer environments)
  • Continuously standing; frequently required to sit, bend, reach, grip, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk throughout the warehouse
  • Frequently required to lift and place product weighing up to 45 pounds on pallets at various heights
