Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Transition Counselor to join our team. The successful candidate will provide individualized counseling services to transitioning Service Members and their Family Members, helping them navigate the transition process and achieve their career goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Personalized Counseling: Offer one-on-one counseling sessions to Service Members and their Family Members, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their transition goals.
  • Transition Briefings: Conduct transition briefings to provide clients with essential information about available transition services and eligibility requirements.
  • Pre-Transition Counseling: Notify eligible Service Members of required pre-separation counseling and conduct individual counseling sessions.
  • Individual Transition Plans: Develop and implement individual transition plans, including resume development and career goal setting.
  • Continuum of Service: Provide follow-on counseling and assist clients in completing their gap analysis, identifying and scheduling employment assistance workshops, and conducting regional outreach and pre-separation counseling.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with contract requirements and provide regular reporting to the Contract Installation Manager.

Requirements

  • Education and Experience: Master's degree in Training and Development, HR Management, Counseling, or related field, with a minimum of 2 years of career counseling, education, or related experience. Bachelor's degree accepted with additional experience.
  • Desirable Qualifications: Two years of experience in Military lifestyle, personal and/or professional experience with Military personnel and Military Family members, in-depth understanding of Military culture and Command structure, experience in conducting program evaluations and using customer feedback to improve program effectiveness.
  • Additional Requirements: U.S. Citizen, background investigation (National Agency Check), and familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.

Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing services to transitioning Service Members and their Family Members. Travel may be required to accomplish mission goals, including evenings and weekends, with the ability to use all modes of transportation and flexibility to work non-standard hours as needed.
