Job Summary

The Diversion Analyst will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing controlled substance activity, including storage, inventory, preparation, and delivery. This role will also involve interacting with coworkers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily, monthly, and ongoing monitoring of controlled substance activity
  • Perform routine controlled substance audits, inventory control, and review of resolved discrepancies
  • Monitor all activity within the controlled substance medication use process
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive surveillance program to detect and respond to potential drug diversion
  • Collate monthly data and communicate to Anesthesia Leadership
  • Train and educate internal and external customers on controlled substance policies and procedures
  • Review systems, identify areas for improvement, and assist in upgrades/downtimes related to automated systems
  • Assist in expunging of expired controlled medication and reconciliation of reports

Requirements

  • Strong quantitative skills
  • Ability to analyze large sets of data
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Working knowledge of Joint Commission Medication Management standards and the DEA controlled substance act

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of pharmacy technician experience
  • 1+ years of experience with pharmacy automation, including automated dispensing cabinets
  • Experience handling controlled substances or inventory/supply chain
