Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Behavioral Health Department, you will be responsible for providing counseling and treatment services to patients with substance use challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide counseling and treatment services to patients with substance use challenges.
  2. Manage an assigned caseload of patients and maintain accurate records of their intake, assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, billing, and discharge.
  3. Provide training and support to registered counselors.
  4. Adhere to infection control procedures, including standard precautions of temperature monitoring, hand washing, symptom self-monitoring, masking, and social distancing.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A High School diploma required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid CCAPP, CADTP, or CAADE certification required.
  • 315 hours approved AOD-specific education.
  • 160 hours of supervised work experience (field practicum).
  • 2080 hours of work experience.
  • Passing score on the IC&RC Written Exam, CATC exam, or equivalent California-approved test.
  • Experience counseling people with substance abuse challenges using evidence-based practices.
