The Department of Sculpture and Extended Media at the Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to work as a Wood and Metal Shop Monitor.
Responsibilities:- Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the wood and metal shops
- Ensure equipment is functioning properly and follow procedures for inoperable equipment
- Safeguard tools and equipment and maintain inventory
- Verify that all users of equipment are authorized and ensure proper safety attire is worn
- Enforce rules and regulations in the shops
A strong work ethic, pleasant and professional demeanor, and flexibility to work independently or as part of a team are essential for this position. Applicants must be reliable, comfortable multi-tasking, and possess strong time management skills. Experience using equipment in wood shops is preferred, and training can be provided when necessary.
