Job Overview

Serenschool LLC d/b/a Serendipity Preschool & Child Care is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Early Childhood Educator to join our team as a Lead Teacher for young learners. This role involves developing and implementing educational curriculum, leading a cohesive teaching team, and managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom.

About the Role

This is a full-time position that requires a strong understanding of child development, effective communication skills, and the ability to work well with others. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating educational curriculum, planning age-appropriate activities, maintaining frequent communications with parents, and ensuring all center policies and state regulations are met.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement educational curriculum by creating engaging learning experiences based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards
  • Lead by example and encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching
  • Plan individual and group activities to actively engage children and promote social, cognitive, and emotional growth
  • Maintain open and regular communication with parents through progress reports, parent-teacher conferences, and informal discussions
  • Ensure a healthy and safe classroom environment, including maintaining hygiene and cleanliness standards
  • Supervise teacher assistants and volunteers to ensure they follow planned activities and adhere to safety and hygiene standards
Requirements
  • A minimum of 1 year of professional childcare experience, preferably in an early childhood education setting
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, basic computer skills, and high energy levels
  • A strong understanding of child development principles and practices
  • CPR and First Aid certification, with the ability to pass a full background check and health screening
  • A preferred Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field of study with a minimum of 30 credits in ECE, with a willingness to help train new staff members
