We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at Tucson Medical Center. As a key member of our Obstetrics department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team.
Key Responsibilities- Perform high-frequency sound wave examinations to produce images of the inner human body and/or fetus for diagnosis and identification of abnormalities.
- Assist physicians in procedures such as amniocentesis and chorionic villi sampling, maintaining sterile techniques and ensuring patient safety.
- Operate specialized equipment to calibrate and record test results, prepare rooms and equipment for patients, and instruct hospital personnel and students on examination procedures and equipment maintenance.
- Collaborate with medical staff during special procedures, obtain patient history, and abstract relevant information from clinical records.
- Maintain accurate records of examination data and other pertinent information, adhering to safety, environmental, and infection control policies and procedures.
- Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school providing a sonography program.
- At least six months to one year of diagnostic medical sonography experience, preferably in an acute care setting.
- Ability to obtain American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification within 18 months of hire date.
