Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for operating advanced imaging equipment, preparing patients for procedures, and producing high-quality diagnostic images.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Imaging Equipment: Safely and efficiently operate CR/Digital X-ray systems and other imaging equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Patient Preparation: Prepare patients for procedures, providing instructions to obtain desired results and minimize anxiety.
  • Quality Control: Ensure proper identification of patients and demographics in the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS). Clarify and follow doctor's orders, scanning necessary information in PACS.
  • Procedure Completion: Complete procedures within an acceptable time frame, producing quality diagnostic images for interpretation.
  • Cleanliness and Infection Control: Maintain x-ray room cleanliness after exams and procedures, adhering to infection control standards specific to patient care.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform QA/QC testing based on the frequency required by the State.
  • Communication: Prioritize and organize work assignments, adjusting priorities based on changing situations. Maintain order and cleanliness in the technologist work area, consulting and communicating with other departments in a professional manner.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure equipment is in acceptable condition by conducting routine quality control checks, following department standards for reporting equipment malfunctions or problems.
  • Verification: Verify exams in the PACS system.
General Responsibilities
  • Department Leadership: Direct the daily operations of all radiology functions in all locations, demonstrating the ability to make decisions, delegate, and assure the welfare of patients and staff.
  • Equipment Management: Maintain equipment records, making recommendations for replacement of outdated or poorly functioning equipment.
  • Staff Orientation: Plan and assist in the orientation of new technical staff.
  • Quality Control: Implement and oversee daily, monthly, semi-annual, and annual Quality Control, as mandated by the State of New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.
  • Safety and Radiation Protection: Demonstrate understanding and awareness of safety and radiation protection.
  • Appointment Management: Cancel and reschedule patient appointments as needed.
  • Supply Management: Replenish and change supplies in assigned areas as needed.
  • Customer and Coworker Safety: Demonstrate understanding of safety, health, and moral needs of customers and coworkers.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduated from an accredited Radiology program.
  • Certification: Licensed by NJ State DEP and Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologies.
  • Computer Skills: Maintain current knowledge of RIS and PACS computer systems, with advanced computer skills including email, Microsoft applications, and the ability to comprehend and utilize Electronic Medical Record System, RIS, and PACS Systems.
  • Communication: The ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
