We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our team in the Operating Room at Children's Health. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth execution of surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment, and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures by ensuring that surgical equipment is functioning properly and safely.
- Set up sterile fields, secure sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment based on surgeon preference cards.
- Actively participate in the Universal protocol standards, including pre-procedure verification, review of surgical preference cards, and setup of surgical fields.
- Assist in draping the sterile field, passing supplies, equipment, or instruments, and maintaining the highest standard of sterile technique during the surgical procedure.
- Clean and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization on completion of the surgery.
- Assist the surgical team with cleaning of the operating room on completion of the surgery for the next scheduled procedure.
- At least 2 years of work experience in a surgical setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training beyond high school is preferred.
- Current Surgical Technologist Certification issued by an approved organization.
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification.
