Pharmacy Intern Job Description

Denver Health is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Intern to join our team. As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the close supervision of a licensed pharmacist to learn the basic skills required to be a pharmacist.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Train in theoretical, practical, and technical aspects of the pharmaceutical field.
  • Interpret and clarify orders for medications, discuss questionable orders, and evaluate orders for potential chemical, physical, or therapeutic incompatibilities.
  • Monitor drug therapy for potential drug-drug, drug-food, and drug-disease interactions.
  • Prepare medications appropriately, including filling medication cassettes, pre-packing bulk medications, and preparing sterile and non-sterile products.
  • Interact with healthcare staff and patients to identify, clarify, and fill orders for pharmaceutical needs.
  • Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, quality improvement, environmental, and infection control standards.
  • Restock and deliver drugs and related supplies to patient care areas or clinics.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree Required.
  • PHARMIN-Pharmacy Intern - BPS - Board of Pharmacy Specialties Required.
