Job Summary

This role is a hybrid position that offers remote options in addition to onsite and community requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and implementing strategies to ensure quality, efficacy, and cost-effectiveness for oncology patients in multiple settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patient needs and provide support and education to facilitate informed decision-making and timely access to quality health and psychosocial care throughout all phases of the cancer continuum.
  • Communicate and collaborate with the treating physician, multidisciplinary team, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Develop and implement education programs to reinforce diagnosis and connect patients to appropriate resources.
  • Assess and implement activities that support the standards related to Children's Oncology Group (COG) and review and strategize activities that support community needs assessment of site-specific results.
  • Provide emotional support for patients, advocate on their behalf, and empower them to self-advocate.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required, effective October 1, 2016.
  • Typically requires 5+ years of experience in clinical specialty (Oncology).
  • Current Illinois RN license and CPR certification required.
  • OCN Certification or Nurse Navigator Certification obtained within 2 years of hire.
