About the Role:

This position supports the HII Fleet Sustainment (FS) Carrier Engineering Material Assist Team (CEMAT) in San Diego, CA. As a Marine Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing various auxiliary equipment with a focus on Galley and Laundry equipment.

  • You will apply your comprehensive understanding of production and processes to complete assignments.
  • Responsible for interfacing with customers, managing subcontractors, and providing work direction to others.
  • Perform a variety of complicated and non-routine tasks, including scheduling, reporting, and briefing customers and senior management.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • High School education or equivalent, and 4 years of related experience.
  • Must provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty.
  • Must have experience generating and submitting shipboard Work Authorization Forms (WAFs) and tag-outs.
  • Must have experience troubleshooting and repairing pumps, water heaters, and associated equipment.
