Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Machinist Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to work with a leading national skilled trade organization.

About the Role

The Marine Machinist Specialist will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing ships propulsion and auxiliary systems, including steam, gas, diesel, rudders, steering gear, elevators, and deck equipment. They will also analyze defects and repair electrical mechanical systems of outboard motors, as well as replace parts such as gears, magneto points, piston rings, and spark plugs.

This role requires a minimum of 5 years of marine/ or shipyard experience, as well as the ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics. The ideal candidate will be able to pass a background check for base access and work at heights or in confined spaces.

Responsibilities
  • Maintenance, repair, and installation of ships propulsion and auxiliary systems (Steam, Gas, Diesel, Rudders, Steering gear, elevators, and deck equipment)
  • Installation, repair, and maintenance of ships fluid systems (Pumps, compressors, purifiers, heat exchangers, actuators, and valves)
  • Analyze defects and repair electrical mechanical systems of outboard motors
  • Replace parts such as gears, magneto points, piston rings, and spark plugs
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of marine/ or shipyard experience preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics
  • Ability to pass a background check for base access (DBIDS)
  • Can work at heights or in confined spaces
