Key Responsibilities- Analyze and visualize healthcare data to develop economic and financial models that support HANYS' policy and operational objectives.
- Utilize Alteryx, SQL, and SAS to prepare and analyze large datasets.
- Apply data visualization techniques using Tableau to communicate complex information to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with divisional leaders to ensure efficient use of resources and maintain open communication.
- Support the development of member-specific and public-facing analytics.
- Participate in analysis of member surveys on various topics.
- Develop a working knowledge of HANYS' key policy issues and membership to inform analytic builds and presentations.
- Analyze internal data to drive organizational improvements and efficiencies.
- A four-year degree in healthcare, epidemiology, finance, economics, mathematics, data analytics, informatics, or computer science.
- 2-3 years of experience in a position involving economic analysis, statistics, financial, and/or information analysis in a health-related field.
- Experience with Alteryx, SQL, and/or SAS for analyzing large datasets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex information to stakeholders and present analytic insights to groups of all sizes.
HANYS is the only statewide hospital and continuing care association in New York, representing 500 not-for-profit and public hospitals, nursing homes, and other healthcare organizations. We advocate for our members before Congress, the Governor's office, and state and federal agencies, providing education, data analytics, quality improvement initiatives, and operational assistance to help our members navigate the complexities of healthcare reform.
