Job Title: Behavioral Interventionist

Job Summary:

The Behavioral Interventionist (BI) plays a crucial role in supporting youth with elevated behavioral needs. This part-time position requires working one-on-one with clients in their homes and/or communities, providing guidance and support to help them manage their behavior and achieve stability in their living situations.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one services to clients, adhering to agency requirements, policies, and state regulations.
  • Maintain open communication with caregivers to ensure service efficacy and approval of agenda and activities.
  • Provide direct supervision to clients at all times.
  • Assist clients in completing daily responsibilities, activities, and living skills.
  • Offer direction, coaching, and approved intervention strategies.
  • Engage clients in approved Bruce Perry trauma-informed brain-stimulating activities.
  • Adhere to Individualized Behavioral Objective Plans to help youth achieve treatment goals.
  • Model positive behavior and effective problem-solving techniques.
  • Complete shift documentation on the same day.
  • Maintain open communication with direct supervisors regarding services delivered, concerns, or questions.
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development trainings.
  • Meet with clients' professional teams and attend court hearings as requested.
  • Participate in monthly supportive supervision.
  • Maintain First Aid/CPR Certification.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills:

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • At least one year of experience working with youth with elevated behavioral needs preferred.
  • Must be willing and able to perform safety holds on clients at immediate risk.
  • Must be able to navigate stairs, climb, twist, bend, and lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Must have a smart phone and laptop/computer for work purposes.
  • Willing to commute up to 20 miles to a client's home.
  • Valid driver's license, car insurance, and reliable transportation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Model ethical and professional behavior at all times.
  • Solid commitment to support and advocacy for foster and adoptive families.
  • Skills to collaborate and advocate for positive outcomes in diverse professional teams.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability.
  • CPR/First Aid Certified (preferred).

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Paid Time Off/Vacation accrual after 90 days.

  • Hourly range $21.65-$24/hour, commensurate with degree level and experience.
