Electrical Engineer - Water and Wastewater Facilities

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our growing national Water Infrastructure Design Services group. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for providing electrical engineering services for water and wastewater facilities primarily in the Northeast region, but with opportunities nationally and globally. You will work on a variety of electrical engineering tasks, including design, analysis, and layout of substations, power distribution systems, standby power systems, lighting systems, data communications, equipment relay logic, fire alarm and instrumentation and controls systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support projects and clients in the planning, design, and construction of water/wastewater facilities and other similar industrial facilities.
  • Develop project proposals for new and existing clients in the water/wastewater industry and similar type industries.
  • Develop project management skills, including support in managing budgets and delivery schedules for each assignment.
  • Electrical design and coordination of various projects with an emphasis on motor controls, power distribution, lighting, and communications.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Architects, Civil, Process-Mechanical, HVAC, Plumbing, I&C/SCADA, and Structural engineers to plan and design electrical systems for new or modified facilities.
  • Establishing design criteria, performing design calculations, developing one-line diagrams, control schematics, plans, and specifications.
  • Performing engineering services during construction, including reviewing equipment submittals, shop drawings, and responding to contractor RFI's.
  • Conducting field inspections, overseeing projects in construction, which includes identifying deviations from design, performing general QA/QC of completed work, and monitoring safety compliance.
  • Performing system analysis using ETAP, SKM Power Tools, or other power systems analysis software.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electrical engineering technology, or a related discipline.
  • 10 years of experience in consulting experience in electrical engineering water/wastewater and industrial facility electrical design.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Basic knowledge and experience using AutoCAD MEP (2D and 3D) and/or Revit.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of SKM Power Tools, short circuit calculations, overcurrent coordination, and/or arc flash analysis, and photometric study (Visual 3D or Dialux).
  • Experience with SEL, GE Multilin, or similar relays.
  • Solid working knowledge of the National Electrical Code requirements.
What We Offer

Arcadis offers a competitive salary range of $122,000 - $183,000, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision, EAP, 401K, STD, LTD, AD&D, life insurance, paid parental leave, reward & recognition program, and optional benefits including wellbeing benefits, adoption assistance, and tuition reimbursement. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year.
