Job Summary

Hire Velocity is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and integrating electrical control systems for machinery, equipment, and mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical control systems and components to meet required specifications, focusing on economy, safety, reliability, quality, and sustainability.
  • Provide concept and detail design, implementation, testing, and handover support.
  • Project manage and multitask, possessing technical knowledge and commercial awareness.
  • Work in a multi-disciplinary project team, collaborating with engineers from other specialist areas, marketing and sales staff, manufacturers, suppliers, and technicians.
  • Identify customer requirements, design systems and products, and research suitable solutions and estimate costs and timescales.
  • Liaise with others in the design team, clients, and contractors, and attend meetings on site.
  • Design and conduct tests, record, analyze, and interpret test data, propose modifications, and retest products.
  • Qualify the final product or system, service and maintain equipment, and prepare product documentation, write reports, and give presentations.
Requirements
  • Experience with electrical design layout and controls, including one-line diagrams, schematics, sequence of operations, bill of material, network layouts, and software applications.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of electrical/electronic control systems and technical aptitude.
  • Desire for marine industry (commercial or defense) experience.
  • Ability to make interference control drawings, manufacturing drawings, arrangement, and detail drawings.
  • Flexible with schedules and work hours, with the ability to work overtime.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college (Master's level or higher preferred).
  • 5+ years of related experience.
