The Treasure Coast Christian Academy (TCCA) operates as the educational ministry of Family Church, a flourishing network of community churches and classical Christian schools located in South Florida. We invite you to become a part of our expanding team.

This is a full-time role, reporting directly to the Campus Director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a developmentally suitable educational experience in the classroom utilizing storytelling, games, and engaging activities.
  • Guide students in adhering to classroom and school rules and procedures.
  • Assess students' progress throughout the academic year and evaluate their readiness for the subsequent educational level.
  • Communicate all progress and concerns with professionalism and sensitivity to parents and the director.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents.
  • Uphold safety and security standards for children, staff, and visitors.
  • Maintain essential documentation for individual student files, attendance, incident reports, and other required records.
  • Successful completion of in-service Childcare Training Credential hours will be mandated by the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) trainings.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must successfully pass a drug test and DCF Clearinghouse background check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in leading a classroom and developing educational lesson plans.
  • Familiarity with Florida Early Learning Standards and the capability to implement them.
  • Certification or progress towards certification in one of the following: Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, Early Childhood Professional Certificate (ECPC), Florida Child Care Professional Credential (FCCPC), or Florida Child Care Staff Credential Verification.

Physical Requirements

  • Extended periods of standing and walking throughout the classroom.
  • Ability to lift up to 45 pounds as needed.
  • Capability to sit and stand on the floor throughout the day, and bend, kneel, or squat to engage with children at their eye level.
