As the Executive Director of Acute Care Pharmacy Services, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the pharmacy, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and developing strategies to improve patient safety and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee daily inpatient/acute care pharmacy operations and clinical services throughout Grady Memorial Hospital and other assigned locations.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Lead the design, implementation, and management of a safe and effective medication-use system.
- Prepare reports and conduct studies, including cost analysis and budget preparation.
- Leverage technology and automated systems to optimize medication use systems.
- Develop and provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care services to improve medication selection, administration, and monitoring for patients.
- Promote the safe and cost-effective use of medications, working with the medical staff committee and pharmacy supply chain to promote formulary initiatives.
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree
- Minimum of 7 years of experience as a practicing pharmacist in a health-system setting
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Understanding of the role of the Pharmacy Department in a health-system organization and its relationship with other departments
- Fully licensed as a pharmacist in the State of Georgia or eligible for full licensure within 120 days
- Residency and/or Master's degree (e.g., MBA, MHA)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in pharmacy leadership role
- Minimum of 3 years of previous supervisory or management experience
