Job Title: Deputy County Treasurer

Allegan County is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Deputy County Treasurer to join our team. As a key member of our Treasurer's Office, you will be responsible for performing bank reconciliations, preparing and verifying transmittals from departments, and performing various other functions related to accounting activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Reconcile bank accounts and prepare financial reports
  • Verify and account for investments, wire transfers, and other transactions
  • Monitor and resolve cash posting problems and errors
  • Balance regular and revolving individual accounts for County Drains
  • Prepare and calculate transmittals for county departments
  • Audit and confirm invoice edits for approval
  • Prepare check vouchers for refund checks and journal entries
  • Collect money for delinquent property taxes
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • Two years of accounting and financial experience
  • Two years of computer skills
