We are seeking a highly skilled Distribution Engineer to join our team at Leidos. As a key member of our Power Delivery Services Team, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical overhead and underground distribution systems for our utility customers.
Key Responsibilities- Develop design and construction work packages for electrical distribution systems
- Collect field data to assist in developing work packages
- Review and assess client requirements and scopes
- Perform engineering calculations, including structural analysis and voltage drop calculations
- Provide engineering support during construction and post-construction reviews
- Conduct root cause analysis of outages and mitigation using engineering principles and design
- Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial)
- Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree
- Proficiency in MS Office and ability to utilize a personal vehicle for customer-related travel
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and demonstrate strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills
- Experience with distribution design tools, such as BOUD, Pole Foreman, Spida-Calc, or O-Calc
- Knowledge of NESC Standards, ESRI, AutoCAD, and/or MicroStation
- Experience with structural analysis, guying calculations, and electric demand and fault currents calculations
