Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Space Vehicle Systems Specialist to join our team at Northrop Grumman. As a key member of our Space Systems division, you will be responsible for providing mission-critical support to our satellite programs, including on-orbit vehicle/sustaining engineering.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Mission Operations Support: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful operation of our satellite programs, including on-orbit vehicle/sustaining engineering.
  • Support System Problem/Anomaly Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve system issues and anomalies, working closely with engineers and operators to identify and implement solutions.
  • Lead/Coordinate Anomaly Review Board Investigations: Lead and coordinate investigations into system anomalies, working with teams to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Investigate and Diagnose System Signatures: Analyze system data to identify and diagnose unexpected system signatures, working with teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Support Operations Readiness Activities: Collaborate with teams to ensure the successful execution of operations readiness activities, including configuration control board and customer meetings.
  • Support Operations: Provide 24/7 on-call support to lead the resolution of system issues and anomalies, working closely with teams to ensure the successful operation of our satellite programs.
  • Make Modifications to Existing Operations Procedures: Develop and implement new procedures to incorporate lessons learned from in-flight performance, working closely with teams to ensure the successful operation of our satellite programs.
  • Support System Maintenance Tasks: Collaborate with teams to ensure the successful execution of system maintenance tasks, working closely with contractors and customers to ensure the successful operation of our satellite programs.
  • Perform Demonstrations and Briefings: Develop and deliver presentations to explain how to utilize mission systems to accomplish task-based objectives, working closely with teams to ensure the successful operation of our satellite programs.
  • Perform Quantitative Risk Analysis: Analyze data to identify and mitigate risks, working closely with teams to ensure the successful operation of our satellite programs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Related STEM Discipline: A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related STEM discipline is required.
  • Minimum of 5 Years of Relevant Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required, with a strong background in satellite operations engineering disciplines.
  • Active or Current TS/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance: An active or current TS/SCI U.S. government security clearance is required.
  • U.S. Citizenship: U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Ability to Work within a Group of Diversified Individuals: The ability to work within a group of diversified individuals with varying backgrounds to achieve mission success is essential.
  • Knowledge and Experience in Satellite Operations Engineering Disciplines: A strong background in satellite operations engineering disciplines, including attitude control, power management, thermal control, propulsion, command and data handling, flight and ground software, and anomaly determination and resolution is required.
  • Previous Experience with Troubleshooting, Anomaly Resolution, and Performing Analysis on Operational Systems: Previous experience with troubleshooting, anomaly resolution, and performing analysis on operational systems is required.
  • Experience Writing Technical Documents for External Customers: Experience writing technical documents for external customers is required.
  • Outstanding Verbal and Written Communications Skills: Outstanding verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to make persuasive presentations to external customers at milestone reviews, are required.
  • Ability to Make Decisions under High Pressure Environments: The ability to make decisions under high pressure environments and maintain composure in stressful situations is essential.
