Job Summary:

Additionally, you will conduct technical assessments of emerging technology to meet space command requirements and perform analysis of alternatives of candidate technical solutions to communication and control shortfalls. You will collaborate with Combatant Commands, Military Services, and industry to identify potential innovation solutions to space force command and communication challenges. Furthermore, you will conduct capability-based assessments focused on current and emerging joint space operations requirements and provide thought leadership to develop implementation plans to achieve strategic goals related to performance, reliability, availability, sustainability, and security.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, implement, and support components and functions enabling command and control of joint space forces and assets.
  • Research and identify systems and sub-systems performance, availability, reliability, and security requirements.
  • Conduct technical assessments of emerging technology to meet space command requirements.
  • Perform analysis of alternatives of candidate technical solutions to communication and control shortfalls.
  • Collaborate with Combatant Commands, Military Services, and industry to identify potential innovation solutions to space force command and communication challenges.
  • Conduct capability-based assessments focused on current and emerging joint space operations requirements.
  • Provide thought leadership to develop implementation plans to achieve strategic goals related to performance, reliability, availability, sustainability, and security.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or similar technical field, and a minimum of 5 years related space system domain experience; Master's degree and 3 years' experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of identifying communication network requirements and potential solutions.
  • Demonstrated technical and operational expertise in areas including interoperability, mobility, security requirements, and network resilience.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Active Top-Secret/SCI clearance required, with the ability to be cleared for Special Access Programs.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous Combatant Command experience.
  • Experience supporting joint multi-domain operations.
  • Experience with requirements engineering, identification, and documentation.
  • Knowledge of DoD communications, networking, command and control, cyberspace operations, and space operations missions and challenges.
