Veterinary Assistant

About the Role
The Veterinary Assistant plays a vital role in the Banfield Pet Hospital team, supporting the veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and other staff members to ensure the safety and well-being of pets, clients, and associates. This position requires a strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and organized work environment, and adhering to hospital standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide gold standard care to patients, clients, and team members
- Help the flow of patients and schedule
- Communicate with Drs, clients, and team members verbally and in writing
- Discuss treatment options, medical care, and financial responsibilities with clients
- Carry out or set up procedures that do not require veterinarian or vet tech assistance
- Adhere to hospital standards that keep pets safe and the treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs clean and organized
- Educate clients about our Optimum Wellness Plans and the importance of preventive care
- Mentor other members of the hospital team
- Communicate with the team to plan a balanced day of client care, housekeeping, recurring clinic responsibilities, and workload
