New Parent Support Home Visitor

Job Type: Full-time

VetJobs is seeking a skilled New Parent Support Home Visitor to join our team at Fort Riley, KS.

About the Role:

This position requires providing support to eligible military Families with expectant parents and children from birth to 3 years old. The successful candidate will assess developmental milestones, referral procedures for indicators of special needs or developmental delays, and strengthen adaptation to parenthood.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide effective, timely, and confidential services to Families assessed as being at risk for child maltreatment and/or Family violence.
  • Protect client information and identify/report suspected child abuse and neglect and domestic abuse.
  • Assess and strengthen parental capacity for problem-solving, building trusting relationships, and seeking help when necessary.
  • Promote developmentally appropriate parenting skills and disciplinary techniques.
  • Facilitate community networks to build positive relationships and reduce social isolation.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Master's degree in Social Work or Counseling.
  • Current and active license as an LCSW, LMFT, or RN.
  • Minimum two years of direct work experience in child abuse/domestic abuse, maternal/child health, or medical social work.
  • Home visitation experience and valid driver's license.
