As a key member of the Safeway pharmacy team, the Pharmacy Technician plays a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and supporting the delivery of pharmacy services to the public.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide friendly and courteous service to customers, responding to their needs and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist in the filling of prescriptions, including computer inputting, counting and pouring of medications, and labeling.
- Communicate with prescribing offices to obtain refill authorizations and ensure accurate and timely processing of prescriptions.
- Assist customers in locating over-the-counter products and provide information on generic alternatives.
- File and sequence new prescription documents daily, maintaining accurate and organized records.
- Promote generic alternatives at the prescription drop-off window and replace stock in displays surrounding the pharmacy area.
- Receive and check in product orders from pharmacy suppliers, managing invoices and tracking against accounting reports.
- Order replacement stock and supplies, ensuring timely restocking and maintaining a clean and organized pharmacy area.
- Operate the electronic cash register and maintain the cleanliness of the pharmacy area, adhering to company policies and procedures.
This is an hourly non-exempt position that reports to the Pharmacy Manager, Store Manager, and Assistant Managers. The Pharmacy Technician plays a critical role in supporting the pharmacy team and ensuring the delivery of exceptional customer service.
