Position Overview

The University of California is seeking a dedicated professional to oversee the development and management of academic programs and curricula within the School of Social Sciences, Humanities, and Arts (SSHA). This role requires a high level of independence and collaboration with various departments to ensure the effective delivery of educational offerings.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is between $53,500 and $92,100, with a budgeted salary expectation of $62,000 to $65,000. Salary offers will be based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with SSHA leadership to determine course offerings for B.A./B.S. programs, minors, honors programs, and graduate degrees, taking into account enrollment trends and faculty availability.
  • Manage the scheduling of courses for the SSHA Summer Session, advising on best practices and liaising with academic advising and graduate services.
  • Support faculty and instructors by tracking enrollments, assigning instructors of record, and ensuring accurate final exam schedules.
  • Facilitate the administrative review of new and revised course proposals, providing training and support to faculty as needed.
  • Oversee the annual update of the SSHA sections of the university's General Catalog.
  • Address classroom space and scheduling challenges, advising leadership on complex curricular issues.
  • Conduct assessments of processes for efficiency, maintaining documentation of enrollment trends for future planning.
Qualifications

Education: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field is required, along with three years of progressively responsible experience in a student services role, or a combination of education and experience totaling seven years.

Skills: Candidates should possess a thorough understanding of university policies and procedures, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to analyze data and identify trends. Problem-solving skills are essential for navigating complex situations.
