The Legal, Risk & Compliance (LRC) team at Airwallex is a dynamic group of legal professionals and risk management specialists.
We are dedicated to protecting Airwallex's operations, nurturing a culture of compliance and ethical practices, and ensuring we navigate the global financial landscape with integrity.
Our team provides expert guidance and support across all business sectors, proactively identifying, mitigating, and managing legal and financial risks.
Key Responsibilities
We are looking for a Senior Compliance QA Manager to join the Global Program and Standards team, focusing on quality assurance and testing activities.
The Senior Compliance QA Manager will be tasked with maintaining the QA framework, formulating the QA plan, and executing QA activities to ensure our policies and procedures are effectively implemented.
In addition to conducting QA reviews and offering recommendations, this role will assess how Airwallex's financial crime controls can be enhanced to address potential vulnerabilities and risks.
Specific Duties Include:
- Conducting Financial Crime Compliance QA reviews based on regulatory standards, processes, policies, and procedures to evaluate controls within the first and second lines of defense.
- Understanding relevant regulatory requirements to ensure testing is designed to identify potential control deficiencies and non-compliance with laws and regulations.
- Managing the planning, fieldwork, and reporting phases of the QA review.
- Escalating potential issues and exceptions identified during the review process to senior management.
- Ensuring stakeholders respond appropriately to address all draft recommendations and deficiencies noted during the fieldwork, and documenting all issues and observations in the central risk repository.
- Preparing and distributing testing reports to senior management, detailing review findings and recommendations.
- Documenting the QA review process with sufficient detail for third-party understanding.
- Considering Airwallex's risk appetite and culture in daily activities and decision-making.
Candidate Profile
We seek candidates who meet the essential qualifications for this role. Preferred qualifications are advantageous but not mandatory.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in QA, testing, and governance roles related to financial crimes, AML, sanctions, fraud, risk, or a similar field.
- Familiarity with the fintech and payments industry.
- Strong research and writing skills, including the ability to draft QA reports.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven track record of taking ownership of tasks and driving them to completion.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to synthesize large volumes of information.
- Discretion in handling sensitive matters.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency in both English and Chinese.
Compensation Range:
$127K - $218K
