About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Healthcare Information Coordinator to join our team at the Department of Veterans Affairs. As an Information Receptionist, you will be responsible for managing incoming calls and visitors, providing accurate and timely information, and ensuring that all communication is secure and confidential.

Our ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and maintain confidentiality in sensitive situations. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records, tracking patient information, and ensuring compliance with security protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer telephones and respond to caller inquiries in a professional and courteous manner
  • Screen and triage visitors to determine the nature of their issues and direct them to the proper personnel
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient interactions, including phone calls, visits, and correspondence
  • Ensure compliance with security protocols, including protecting sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality
  • Provide administrative support to healthcare staff, including scheduling appointments and coordinating communications

Requirements:

  • Two years of education above high school (transcript required)
  • Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with office automation, such as computers, computer software and applications, copiers, printers, scanners, and facsimile machines

Benefits:

  • A competitive salary range of $38,428 - $49,953 per year
  • A full-time position with a regular work schedule of Monday - Friday 7:30 am to 4:00 pm
