Job Overview

The Facilities Maintenance Leader is responsible for overseeing and guiding skilled trades personnel to achieve the goals of the maintenance division within a dynamic, high-volume, unionized manufacturing setting. The chosen candidate will manage initiatives related to safety, quality, efficiency, cost control, and employee morale. This role involves driving improvements in throughput and coordinating both professional and emergency maintenance tasks. Additionally, the Maintenance Leader will provide coaching and guidance to team members, including both hourly workers and supervisory staff, on the Stellantis Production Way methodologies for effective problem resolution and corrective action implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain a comprehensive understanding of maintenance principles, including time-based maintenance (TBM), condition-based maintenance (CBM), and dynamic maintenance (DM). Influence key performance indicators (KPIs), such as mean time between failures (MTBF) and mean time to repair (MTTR), while ensuring equipment is maintained in optimal condition and pursuing continuous improvement initiatives. Address issues related to throughput, production cycles, and equipment downtime, collaborating with the Professional Maintenance Specialist (PMS) as necessary. Provide direct supervision to the Skilled Trades team. Collaborate with Skilled Trades personnel to implement waste reduction strategies through the Stellantis Production Way (SPW) methodologies, including Autonomous Maintenance (AM), Professional Maintenance (PM), Quality Maintenance (QM), Focus Improvement (FI), and People Development (PD). Actively engage in and lead kaizen projects aimed at enhancing Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) and identifying waste reduction opportunities through cost deployment.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent. At least 3 years of experience in industrial automation, with a focus on project management. Flexibility to work various shifts and overtime as needed. Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal abilities, capable of interacting with employees at all levels, from hourly staff to senior management. Proven ability to establish effective business relationships with plant leadership and stakeholders. Capacity to manage multiple projects concurrently. Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and problem-solving. Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a knack for leading teams. Proficient in coaching, mentoring, and developing skilled trades employees. Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering discipline. Experience with continuous improvement systems and lean manufacturing practices. Background in leading maintenance teams within a unionized environment. Training in Green Belt/Red X/Six Sigma methodologies. Knowledge of controls, robotics, drives, system-level communication systems, sealing systems, glass cell systems, various conveyance systems, welding processes, paint systems, and vision systems. Familiarity with the Stellantis Production Way pillar methodology and its implementation.
