Summary:

The Nutritional Services Cook is responsible for preparing and serving food in accordance with established food safety and handling protocols. This role ensures that meals are not only nutritious but also visually appealing and served at the appropriate temperature.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Minimum of tenth grade or above.
  • GED or High School Diploma preferred.

Licenses/Certification:

  • ServSafe Food Safety Certification preferred.
  • Food Handler's permit as required by state regulations.

Experience:

At least six months of experience in large-scale food preparation, with a preference for experience in therapeutic diet preparation.

Essential Skills:

  • Knowledge of safe food preparation and handling techniques.
  • Understanding of basic nutrition and dietary needs.
