Certified Nursing Assistant

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team at Bell Minor Home. As a key member of our care team, you will provide high-quality resident care and support, promoting a safe and comfortable environment for our residents.
Responsibilities- Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Assist with ambulation, transfers, and positioning of residents, utilizing proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Record vital signs, weights, and measurements, as well as intake and output, and report changes in resident condition to the Charge Nurse.
- Participate in collecting data for the Minimum Data Set (MDS) and contribute to the development of the plan of care.
- Prepare residents for meals, transport them to the dining room, and assist with feeding as needed.
- Keep accurate records of food intake and output, and assist with basic aseptic and sterile techniques to prevent infection.
- Be alert to proper ventilation, temperature, light, and noise control, and take TPR, blood pressure, and weight measurements as directed.
- Promptly respond to call lights and other resident needs, and utilize proper body mechanics when lifting or transporting residents.
- Assist in the orientation and training of other staff, as requested, and attend in-service education programs to meet facility educational requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident and facility records, and protect residents from neglect, mistreatment, and abuse.
- Current Nursing Assistant Certification from the state, or currently attending a CNA class working toward certification.
- Maintain CPR Certification.
- High School Graduate or GED.
- Organized and detailed work performance, good communication skills, and excellent self-discipline and patience.
- Genuine caring for and interest in elderly and disabled people in a nursing facility.
- Comply with Resident Rights and Facility Policies and Procedures.
This position is subject to frustrations in meeting work demands due to frequent interruptions, and may involve exposure to infectious waste, diseases, and conditions, including TB and the AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses.
The physical demands of this job include sitting, walking, standing, lifting, carrying, bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, reaching, grasping, fine manipulation, and pushing and pulling.
