Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Risk Engineering Consultant to join our team in the West region. As a Senior Risk Engineering Consultant, you will be responsible for adapting Zurich's innovative solutions to the construction industry, minimizing customer losses, and improving sustainability and business resiliency at the corporate level.

Job Description

The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:

  • Work with multiple large construction accounts within the region to identify exposure risks and program gaps.
  • Leverage Zurich's risk engineering tools and services to improve customer risk management and general account management.
  • Deliver high-quality construction consultative services, including identifying exposures and program risk control gaps to form the basis of risk mitigation recommendations, investigation of cause/effect of major losses for hazard/safety management programs.
  • Develop and maintain positive customer and business partner relationships and collaborate with both customers and business partners to develop appropriate service plans.
  • Market and sell a wide range of fee services to customers that support their risk mitigation efforts.
  • Produce advanced-level presentations and deliver risk management training for customers and internal business partners.
  • Provide appropriate risk improvement advice, conduct loss investigations (including both trend and root cause analysis), and implement risk improvement programs.
  • Assist customers with developing corporate and project-specific QA/QC plans, safety plans, investigating construction defects when applicable, building envelope reviews, and moisture mitigation identification.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Construction Risk Engineering, Safety/Risk Management, or Construction Field Operations OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the same fields OR Zurich Certified Apprentice, including an Associate's degree and 6 or more years of experience in the same fields AND Experience working in a team environment.
  • Experience in Construction Corporate Safety, Project Management, and/or Superintendent roles.
  • Advanced-level knowledge of construction safety, operations, quality management, and associated construction risks and exposures.
  • Professional certifications: CSP, ARM, CHST.
  • High computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office and IOS platforms.
  • Technical writing skills to create customer and internal business partner work products.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and consulting skills with the ability to communicate and consult at both the corporate and project site levels effectively and professionally.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $96,300.00 - $157,700.00, depending on experience, skill set, and location. Additionally, we provide a comprehensive employee benefits package for employees and eligible dependents, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and more. Please note that compensation may vary based on specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.

Other Information
