Senior Loan Review Analyst

SUMMARY OBJECTIVE:
Contribute to the Loan Review Program as designated, aiming to mitigate loss impacts, evaluate the integrity of the bank's loan portfolio, and ensure compliance with established lending policies and quality standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Achieve the goals outlined in the loan review policies and procedures.
- Generate precise analyses (review format) of current borrowers from an impartial viewpoint to validate the accuracy of risk ratings. This encompasses evaluation and interpretation of liquidity, leverage, and operational metrics; computation and discussion of cash flow coverage; and consideration of management, industry, rent roll, and collateral.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of all loan types and commitments in alignment with Loan Review policy requirements to classify loans, ascertain the level of attention needed, and identify actual and potential credit issues promptly.
- Supervise overall and specific loan portfolios for significant operational changes, underwriting, credit quality, and performance of relationship managers, reporting and discussing findings with the supervisor.
- Compile assigned monthly and quarterly reports, graphs, and memos, some of which are disseminated internally and/or to the bank's loan committees and Audit Committee.
- Assist department colleagues with the preparation of various evaluations or other tasks as requested.
- Adhere to established deadlines.
- Engage in discussions and provide guidance to relationship managers regarding specific loan scenarios as necessary.
- Propose modifications to existing procedures and note significant trends when required.
- Update procedures and suggest changes to loan review policies as necessary.
- Keep the supervisor informed about the progress of reviewed loans and any potential problem loans or situations.
- Verify the accuracy of management reports utilized in the respective lending departments.
- Maintain sufficient contact with peer banks and relevant government banking agencies to stay informed about the latest innovations and requirements in the Loan Review function.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position does not entail supervising employees.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This role operates within a professional office setting. Standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines are routinely used.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The employee is frequently required to: 1) type or otherwise engage with fingers; 2) communicate verbally, conveying detailed or important oral instructions to other workers or clients accurately and effectively; 3) hear, perceiving sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and receive detailed information through oral communication; and 4) see, with abilities including viewing a computer monitor and extensive reading.
Sedentary work may involve occasionally lifting up to 10 pounds and/or moving up to 25 pounds. This role primarily involves sitting, with some walking.
TRAVEL:
No travel is required except for potential training and/or conferences.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND TRAINING:
A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field with coursework in accounting (at least intermediate level), finance, and economics.
A minimum of four years of banking experience (specifically in loan review, credit analysis, or business banking/commercial lending) or similar equivalent experience is required.
