Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled RN Infusion Specialist to join our team at UCHealth. As a key member of our infusion care team, you will provide direct patient care in an outpatient infusion setting, utilizing the nursing process to optimize patient outcomes and maximize available resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and Implement Patient Care: Develop and implement individualized patient care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient, taking into account their medical history, current condition, and treatment goals.
  • Monitor and Record Patient Condition: Continuously monitor patient vital signs, medication administration, and other relevant factors, documenting any changes or concerns in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Collaborate with Interdisciplinary Team: Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, pharmacists, and social workers, to ensure seamless patient care and coordination.
  • Provide Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on infusion therapy, medication management, and other relevant topics to promote informed decision-making and self-care.
  • Delegate Tasks to Ancillary Staff: Effectively delegate tasks to certified nursing assistants, medical assistants, and other support staff to optimize workflow and ensure efficient patient care.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program: Must be a graduate of an accredited or state-approved Registered/Professional Nursing program.
  • State Licensure as a Registered Nurse: Must hold a current, active license as a Registered Nurse in the state of Colorado.
  • 6 Months of Nursing Experience: Must have at least 6 months of experience as a Registered Nurse in an infusion or related setting.
  • ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification: Must obtain ONS chemotherapy/biotherapy certification within 6 months of hire for new hires and 1 year for new graduates.
  • BLS Certification: Must hold current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
