Role Summary:
We are in search of a highly qualified and seasoned Vice President of Compliance to spearhead our compliance initiatives and ensure adherence to financial regulations and industry best practices. The successful candidate will play a key role in a dynamic and innovative team dedicated to compliance excellence and will shape and lead compliance strategies in a rapidly changing environment.
The ideal candidate will possess a proven history of establishing compliance management frameworks, developing monitoring and auditing programs, implementing effective controls, and executing corrective actions when necessary. A robust background in financial services is essential. This position will be crucial in guiding our organization through evolving compliance mandates while supporting our mission to deliver outstanding services to our clients.
This role requires an individual with over 7 years of progressively responsible compliance experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Compliance Strategy Formulation:
- Design and execute a comprehensive compliance strategy that aligns with regulatory requirements and organizational objectives.
- Remain informed about financial regulations and industry standards to guide compliance practices.
Compliance Management Framework:
- Establish and maintain an effective compliance management framework.
- Develop policies and procedures that ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and best practices.
Monitoring and Auditing Frameworks:
- Create and oversee monitoring and auditing frameworks to evaluate compliance effectiveness.
Implementation of Controls:
- Establish and enforce internal controls to mitigate compliance risks.
- Collaborate with various departments to integrate compliance into business processes.
Corrective Actions:
- Develop and implement corrective action plans as necessary to address compliance deficiencies.
- Lead investigations into compliance breaches and recommend corrective measures.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as the primary contact for all stakeholders regarding compliance and regulatory matters.
Risk Management:
- Assist in conducting periodic risk assessments related to business operations and provide recommendations for mitigating regulatory and compliance risks concerning existing and new products and services.
- Support the development and maintenance of the company's risk management framework to promote continuous improvement and alignment with business objectives.
Training and Development:
- Develop and deliver compliance training programs for employees at all levels.
- Ensure ongoing enhancement of the company's compliance management framework and practices to foster a culture of compliance and ethical behavior throughout the organization.
Reporting and Communication:
- Prepare and present compliance reports to the executive leadership team.
Qualifications:
Education and Licensure:
- Bachelor's degree in compliance, finance, business administration, law, or a related field is preferred.
- Law degree is preferred.
- Certification in compliance or a related field (e.g., Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM)) is a plus.
Experience:
- 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in regulatory compliance, preferably within the financial services sector.
- Strong understanding of financial services laws and regulations.
- Demonstrated experience in establishing compliance management frameworks and monitoring programs.
Skills and Abilities:
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) is advantageous.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to build and maintain collaborative teams in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the capacity to influence at all levels.
- High ethical standards and integrity.
- Proficiency in English is required; Spanish proficiency is preferred.
- Technical proficiency and familiarity with SalesForce, NAVEX, and AI solutions is a plus.
